Job description

We are a busy convenience store in Masterton that require an experienced person to join our team.

The person will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operation of the store and to ensure sales targets and operational efficiency is achieved. You would be responsible for supervising and directing the work force and making staffing decisions. You would be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction, product quality and the execution of all Company standards and policies which include operational, Health and Safety and Food Safety policies and procedures.

Duties and responsibilities will include the:

  • Deal with suppliers, inward goods, placing orders and following up with suppliers on matters concerning products.
  • Analyse marketing information and translated it into strategic plans for customer growth.
  • Ensuring customers receive prompt service
  • Maintaining company standards for food safety, hygiene and health & safety
  • Developing a strong sustainable team by actively training and supervising front-of-house team
  • Assist with identifying, developing and maintaining establishment policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring company goals of customer satisfaction and delivering quality product service are met
  • Driving the culture of exceptional customer service and operational excellence
  • Consistently monitor product and labour costs to remain within goals
  • Helping in stock ticking and Maintaining records of stock levels.
  • Monitor shrinkage, under and overs.

Job requirements

A mature person with some tertiary studies is preferred as like. At least 1 years as a retail supervisor in a comparable quality retail environment with demonstrated skills and knowledge across the range of business requirements. including shop floor management, visual merchandising, sales, team management, stock control, forecasting and reporting. Excellent communication, leadership and motivational skills. Marketing, training skills, computer and organisational skills. Committed to team, establishment, and excellence. Positive attitude, outgoing, friendly personality. Ability to work competently under pressure and a clean police record required. Reliable and flexible to change. You will also need to be able to work on weekends, evenings and public holidays including the Christmas holiday. Must live in the region or be prepared to move immediately.
