What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role, you will:- participate in analytical data management tasks such as reporting, organizing and maintaining the Remote Airports Office safety management system (SMS) and all airport operations data
- summarize database data using software, interpret statistical analysis and report on data results
- design queries, forms, dashboards, and reports for databases to support multiple project deliverables and objectives
- conduct quality control and quality assurance for data improvement and analysis projects
- provide systems and user support and documentation such as training materials, job aids, and respond to user questions for program applications
How do I qualify?
Information Technology Knowledge and Skills
You have knowledge and experience of:- data software and practical applications using MS Access, MS Excel, PowerBI, SharePoint, Structured Query Language (SQL) server, and writing code pertaining to these applications
- computer languages such as Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), JavaScript, and database management systems
- information management principles such as quality, use and value of data and information, data standards, data exchange, and data distribution
- data and database management quality control and quality assurance principles and practices
- computer software packages such as database management, word processing, and spreadsheets
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
- You can coordinate analysis and development of data management systems to improve operation efficiency and operational processes and software.
- You demonstrate practical experience in simulation modelling, applied mathematics, and statistical sampling.
- You can troubleshoot software and database management systems' issues and errors and provide solutions/recommendations.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- You can prepare systems documentation, database management policies and standards, write user manual, operating procedures, and program updates.
- You can liaise with clients and stakeholders to gather practical information and explain data management and design information to technical and non-technical audiences.
- You can train and support program area users.
Technical Knowledge
- You have knowledge of project management processes to meet project tasks and deliverables timelines and within budget.
- You have knowledge of safety management system's principles for the aviation industry.
- You have general knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).
